How to detect and stimulate entrepreneurial behaviour in design based learning in higher education?

Entrepreneurship is seen as a key competence of 21st century citizen. There is a positive correlation between entrepreneurship and economic growth; but the benefits of entrepreneurship education are not limited to business life.

Entrepreneurship skills are also useful in both personal and social aspects of everyday life. Therefore, it is important to foster entrepreneurial mindsets as a part of academic education, and besides university teachers, company collaboration is very important part of that.

In the T-Crepe webinar ‘Co-creating entrepreneurship and higher education’’ we heard expert presentations on how teachers provide entrepreneurship education to their students, and how students can take their ideas to the next level, into an operating business. In the workshop part of the webinar teachers, students and industry representatives discussed from their perspectives how the most interesting things in entrepreneurship could be accomplished through courses. In this, companies can be a great help in giving entrepreneurship education as long as the aims and needs of a company are taken into account in collaboration projects.
